From new restaurants and retail to schools and transportation upgrades, the city is investing heavily in infrastructure and lifestyle enhancements that benefit residents and visitors alike.
Here’s a look at what’s coming to Goodyear:
🏙️ Goodyear Square District (GSQ): The New Downtown
Goodyear is getting a downtown—and it's packed with personality. The Goodyear Square District (GSQ) is a highly anticipated mixed-use destination designed for dining, entertainment, wellness, and walkability.
What’s coming to GSQ:
Bacchus Wine Bar
Copper & Sage Gastropub
High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill
The Yard Milkshake Bar
Shake Shack
Over Easy

Miyu Nails and Spa
Banner Health Medical Center
This vibrant new core will offer residents a place to gather, dine, and connect—right in the heart of Goodyear.
⛽ Buc-ee’s Travel Center
Yes, it's true—Buc-ee’s is coming to Goodyear! The iconic Texas-based travel center is opening its first Arizona location at I-10 and Bullard Avenue. With 74,000 square feet of space and over 120 fueling stations, Buc-ee’s will be a must-visit stop for travelers and locals alike. It’s expected to create more than 200 full-time jobs and is now projected to open in June 2026.
🏫 Goodyear High School: A New Chapter for Education
The Agua Fria Union High School District is opening Goodyear High School in time for the 2025–2026 school year. Located at Van Buren Street and Cotton Lane, this modern high school will serve 1,800 students at full build-out and feature:
Career academies in arts, business, and science
Performing arts space
State-of-the-art athletic facilities
This is a game-changer for families in the community and reflects Goodyear’s commitment to education and growth.
🏘️ New Affordable Housing
Goodyear is making housing more accessible with a 657-unit affordable housing project by Dominium. This development will provide much-needed housing for low- to moderate-income families and help meet the growing demand for quality, attainable living options in the West Valley.
🚧 Major Transportation Improvements
To support all this growth, Goodyear is making significant investments in infrastructure:
Loop 303 Extension: Currently under construction south of Van Buren Street, this expansion will enhance traffic flow and regional connectivity.
State Route 30 (Tres Rios Freeway): A planned east-west freeway that will relieve pressure from I-10 and offer new access points across the West Valley.
